Robots in liquid metal

Powered assimilating other items

It may not come to mind scenes from the T-1000 Terminator when you read this news. Chinese researchers have developed robots from liquid metal, which can be driven "eating" aluminum and other items that can produce electrochemical reactions. That it is still possible to control their motion, but can be directed through the environmental constraint. These amorphous machines can move using metals, approximately 2 inches per second, speed big enough. And if it cannot be built yet formless Terminator, surely this technology can give another energy source in today's robots. While rely solely on batteries for their energy, in future just may be sufficient friction on a surface can move.
